I saw the post on MS tables but what about us portfueler guys.
if someone has a good map with 270 primaries and 440 secondaries id pay for it
the hahn map is set for 235 primaries so i started out even richer than normal with this kit
i realize that no map will be perfect without a dyno tune but still
id like to at least be close

I thought the stock ecu controled the primaries?????

It does, but the control unit for the Portfueler system still needs to know the size of the primaries for accurate control over the auxilary injectors.

exactly because it calibrates the secondaries based on what it thinks the primaries are doing so to speak

so when you get the hahn base map it is calibrated to deliver x amount of fuel based on what a stock injector would be spraying at that fuel pressure and rpm

i was going to go back to my stock injectors but i couldnt find them

I just pulled my stock ones out. Pm me and we can work something out. You will have a ruff time getting the bigger injectors to act right with the stock ecu. Why did you swap them in the first place? Also you might want to use caps. I got like 5+ warnings from the mods here about no using them. Just a fyi. Us military folks got to look out for each other.

Good point on the capital letter thing. Thanks. Personally I dont think it matters as long as a clear point is made but I am used to following the rules and shutting up and coloring.

Still, the 270cc primaries are only slightly larger than stock. I put them in when I upgraded to a stage 2 system just to be on the safe side since I was upping the boost level. The stock ecu can control up to 310s easily. As a matter of fact, my short term fuel trims via a pocketlogger are always +/- 5 at idle.
These are well withing acceptable limits. It all goes back to the 190cc vs 235cc debate which I will not go into. At first I tried to adjust each individual cell based on what my zeitronix was reading for every boost and rpm reading but that was taking forever.

So Once I get my car back from the tranny shop (My quaife LSD finally came in) I am going to reload the base map and then just subtract 10% across the board. That should make up the difference since 270cc injectors are 10% larger than 235cc injectors. That should even things out and give me a good place to start. It will probably still be kinda rich but livable. I would just get some oem primaries again but I am not going through the PITA to get back into the fuel system to get the 270s out.

I am almost there. At 13 psi and WOT the AFR is 10.7. Still a little rich but getting close.

It starts off at 14.5 then when it hits boost it drops to 12ish then goes richer until it holds steady at 10.7 when WOT is held. I am going to shoot for 11-11.5 so back to the computer it seems.

BTW, the Quaife LSD and stage 2 axles are awesome.

good job guy....continue to keep us updated :thumb:

I think that it is there. I did two runs today in 3rd gear to redline. I only had the boost controller at the lo boost setting of 10psi. I dont want to over do it right off the bat.

According to my zeitronix from 3000 rpms to redline, and at 10 psi of boost my afr held between 11.3 and 11.5 depending on the rpm at the moment.

egt was 1500 when i bounced the needle off the limiter

does that sound pretty normal or should I lean it out a little more and try for mid 12s

Where is your egt tapped at...leaning it out more with the temps reading that high already might be pushin it somewhat, but hey that's what it's all about ya know :thumb:

EGT is tapped into the #4 runner. I read in a few places that we should go no higher than 1600 to 1650. I am thinking about adding a little fuel into the map for over 10psi though. id rather run a little too rich than too lean past 10 psi.

Your correct about running your egt temps.

Except you should expect to hit really close to 1600 and 1650. If you read up on road race engineering's website when they talk about tuning they talk about how close to the edge you can run your egt's

I kind of think of it like this

bad air fuels = knock = something breaking

1650+ EGT's = really f**king hot= something melting.

So expect to run close to the limits with airfuels that look really good.

awesome,
now i just need to get to a dyno and then try that new quaife out at the track and then break something else and start all over again
