well i just put on my fp bt28. running about 16 to 17 psi. (absolutley love it) at about 5500 rpms it feels like fuel cut or a boost leak. pop out the exhaust. like im hitting a wall. I have a 190 pump also. I put on a rre uicp about a month ago. Sound like a boost leak? The rubber coupling they give you that goes to the intercooler its hella bigger then the stock smic... im going to do a boost leak test when I get a chance.... But is that what it sounds like? It is also cold out to. about 30 degrees.

Your profile doesn't say anything about bigger injectors, or an SAFC, DSMLink, or something else equivalent to handle fuel.

If you don't have anything other than the stock MAS and ECU, you're likely hitting fuel cut in the stock ECU.
 
Thats what I figured boost leak. But wouldnt pop like that at any boost level with a boost leak? It didnt at 15 pounds.. Let me turn the boost down and do a leak test...

I shouldnt be hitting fuel cut with 17#'s I dont think. I never have before with my other DSM's with no fuel controller or injectors...
 
im gonna go with fuel cut as well.


do you have an SAFC?

The T-28 moves a HELL of a lot more air than the T-25.
If its not boost leak then you have to get a SAFC and a set of 550's to safely run more than 18psi.

Fuel cut has nothing to do with fuel delivery. Even if he has no fuel mods he should not be fuel cutting with the 2g maf. He has a boost leak making the turbo over run the maf and cause fuel cut.
 
well i didnt notice i was creeping up to about 19ish only. so i turned it down a bit its at about 15 then by 4800 its at 16.5 doesnt cut out anymore. Its going to need injectors and a SAFC.... what about alky injection? My brother can hook me up with a nice kit for about 180 bucks... will that help?

The injection kit is like an intercooler, it will not help fuel cut. The 2g maf can handle a lot of air so you need to do a boost leak test. You should not be cutting out at 19psi.
 
well i hooked it up to the compressor housing to the WG and it doesnt creep or cut out for now.. well see how it is tommarow! LOL.. Thanks!!! :thumb:
I tightend all of my intercooler line. none were loose so... My boost gauge is a little off to i think its a pound to low. when its off it site a little behind the 0 but let me double check... There air is really really cold right now. and dry. its in the 20's.
 
Well I thought I fixed it... It seems when the car has been just started. or only running for less then 10 mins or so it will do it at 5000 rpm. but after it warms up more about 20 mins or so of driving it doesnt do it... I will do a boost leak test tommarow yet... Any Ideas? I need to get a logger too. Not a bad idea...
 
ok so here is the deal.. i have Custom 3" intake pipe, ported SBR 2g exhaust manifold , 16G turbo, 3" downpipe, cat eliminator, 2.5" cat-back exhaust to a greddy evo muffler, Custom 2.5" intercooler piping to a Front mount intercooler, all hard pipes, 2nd Gen throttle body elbow, Walbro 255 lph fuel pump, fic 550cc injectors, hks bov, and a maf trans with 3" gm maf that when we tuned it with innovate wideband,,, it ran 14.7 at cruise(to about 2800) and idle,,, and at accel to wide open 3rd gear pulls it was at 11.7 a/f/r.. here is the problem..
i looked everywhere,, people have the same problem,,, checked everything out did leak test,, still does it..
CAR RUNS GREAT BUT WHEN IM GETTING IN IT,, 2ND AND 3RD GEAR JUST START TO POP AND BACKFIRE AND CUT OUT AT ABOUT 5500.. HELP!!
 
hey everyone.. just to let you know i fixed my car.. IT WAS THE ECU.. DAM CAPS... i can rev up with no problems while "getting in it" just in case someone has same prolem...
