Please tell me this will work

Alright I have a 95 tsi awd w/ the 6bolt swap. Well my tranny took a shit and I'm wondering, instead of getting another 2g tranny or rebuild can I swap it for a 1g tranny. Yea I know I'll need the transfercase and same spline count but would it work?

from my research a 2g trany will not work on a 6 bolt because the bell-housing is deffrent so. Thier is a 1g tranny on dsmtrader for $250 I'd give it a look at for some reason people seem to think that the 2g AWD trannies are worth alot more than I do I'm talking 750-900 bull crap if you ask me.

How can this be? I think its a 2g tranny. So that means I can put a 1g in but what about the speedo cable? how would i switch it to the sensor?

if u put a 1g trans into a 2g u will have no place to mount your motor mounts
