Hi,
My current exhaust is completely rusted out. I have holes throughout the whole thing and it sounds like crap. I dont know what midpipe i have (the one that connects the cat to the axle back section). The axle-back part is an RSR Concept. I need to find a replacement midpipe. its 2.5 inside diameter and 2.75 out i think. I looked everywhere. Dont wont a crush bent one from a muffler shop. The axle back goes over the axle.
thanks
anton

why would you want to have the same one thats going to just rust out again? get stainless steel and there is no problem with mandrel bent exhaust piping, way cheaper and just as good as the big names and even better then the exhaust you have.

I've purchased a lot of different exhaust systems for many cars. Likewise, I've had custom piping fabricated at muffler shops as well. I've seen no rust issues so far. If you live near the coast or by water that could contribute to your issue. Stainless steel piping will solve your issue for sure but it can be difficult to find just a mid-pipe section made of stainless steel that's pre-bent for your application. You should find a muffler shop that has the ability to mandrel-bend pipes (they ARE out there) and have them fabricate you a pipe. It will most likely be very in-expensive. Before they weld it/bolt it in, have them spray some high-temp spraypaint on it and it should last you for quite some time. How long did you have your piping installed before it rusted out anyway?

I dont know how long that exhaust was on the car. I got the car in august and i didnt look at the exhaust because it passed inspection. i dont know how. the axle back RSR is new, but the mid pipe looks like its old as hell. if anyone has a picture of my exhaust when its new i would like to see it to see if it is an RSR midpipe. i go to VT in southwest Virginia and there are no shops around here which have a mandrel bender.

If nobody has a mandrel bend machine, order a couple 2.5" or 3" elbows and have them do the rest. The elbows should be less than $20/each and you shouldn't need more than two.
