Ok guys help me out here my bro and i got in a argument on wich would be better for a all motor set up 10:5:1 or 12:1 Pistons Both in Standad bore

well obviously 12:1 will give you more power, but you need to run really high octane gas, along with some other supporting mods.

Thank you thats what I was telling him, but he has a thick head and says he is going with 10:5:1 so im like what ever its yout car im just trying to help you get the most power out of it

if im not mistaken there are a bunch of other things you need to do with a high compression like that.. i read it somewhere... i dunno search for it or wait for others to respond

10:5:1 is the highest you can run on pump gas. possibly 11:0:1. 21:1 your running race gas and fuel setup to run abotu 110 octane and better hope you can run that compression with your ignition.

also youll need a very strong copper head gasket which will last you maybe a month if its a trailor queen. you could run 12:1 on 93 octane with abotu 4 things of octane boost in it but it will still run liek ca-ca.

all motor go with 10:5:1 itll be a lot easier, safer and easier to get pistons. i mean you can get em but youll pay for custom compression

Now he is talking about getting a Supercharger kit, He says he found some on the internet so whatever

Smack him now.

10.5:1 is ideal as it gives you gains without limiting your choices later. You can still bottle feed it or boost it afterwards, while anything higher that that will likley require you to do another rebuild (unless you like looking at gauges more than looking at the road). Right now I'm running 10.5:1 with an AFX/r ECU on 91 pump gas and I get no knock whatsoever unless I'm really lugging it at a low speed in a high gear (ie; 25mph in 4th).

I doubt there is any supercharger "kit" out there worth a damn either. If your friend has any fabrication experience, he'd be better off making his own. :thumb:
