Piston question

im just wondering with a higher compression piston such as a 9:0:1..........how would it effect horsepower numbers.....i know the added benefits of having more compression equals better spool up .....but ive never seen actual hp increases from a higher compression..............im just looking for general figures

The myth that "higher compression helps spool" is a boatload a crap every time it is not used with more specific terms.

Higher compressor will not magically help your car to make power at a lower engine speed. It also, however, will make your car feel faster out of boost, which will make it feel less laggy and will also decrease the amount of time it takes to reach your boost threshold.

How much power will it add? You didn't tell us anything but the compression is higher.

Nobody can give you exact numbers anyway, it's dependant on way too many things.

well if you have 7:8:1 and then you up it to 9:0:1 wouldnt that make the cylinder compression high making spool up alot quicker...........also having higher compression wouldnt you be able to run less boost and make the same power level................

Yes, the cylinder compression is higher. How does that make the turbo spool faster? I don't understand what you are getting at.

Yes, you can run less boost to make the same power. However, how much power and how much less boost is something you can't put a number on.
