Aftermarket piston question.....

Ok I am wanting to buy a stock crate engine just don't wanna band-aid my motor with all its miles. I'd rather have a fresh start. Well the motor uses 1g big rods but ROCK pistons which are an OEM "spec" piston. I want to know if these pistons can hold up to the same amount of abuse that the Mitsu pistons take.


Any other things to look for in a rebuilt crate engine let me know.

If you want to stay stock with your engine, then you are on the right track. The 1g rods are a hell of a lot stronger then the 2g, but the 2g piston heads are strong then the 1g. So if you can find a set of 2g piston heads then you could go with them.

I'm not doing the rebuild its just a crate engine I know the compression differences on the 1g's and 2g's pistons.....But are aftermarket OEM spec pistons as strong as factory pistons?

How can a head be stronger?
