I have an evo maf that I am going to be putting in my 2g. I was wondering if any of you have experience in creating pigtails that could tell me what approach would be best. They say that the pinouts are the same from evo to the 2g so would it be best just to unsolder the female connector off and solder on the new one? Or should I try to make a little adapter wire to go between the wiring harness and the maf? Sugestions to a place to get the evo maf plug(harness side) would be great. Been to lots of junkywards in San Diego and haven't had much luck. Thanks

It's always best if you can use an adapter and not damage the car's harness, but seldom possible- we earthlings can almost never find the plastics. Next-best choice is to remove the pins from the car's harness using this article:

and after that, you're left to chop and solder. Bear in mind that properly-done crimps are every bit as strong and durable as soldering- all the connections in the car from the manufacturer are crimped -but you need the proper connectors and more importantly, a real crimper. Not the cheap crap that comes in kits.
