MDF - is Medium Density Fiber (I think) its the stuff that stereo sub boxes are made of, and also, that board on top of the spare tire if made of MDF...

It's a good solid board (similar to pressboard, but stronger) and it holds against sound and vibrations very well.

I used a separate bracket and glued the consoles on the back of the board.Sitts really good there.Only one loosened once is the top knob but I fixed it now so its there for good

MDF is very easy to work with and you can easily carve it with a regular knife or sand it with sandpaper..so its very good to use for custom stuff like this one.All panels and so on can be made with this.Alot easier to work with than fiberglass or similar for these types of setups.You can even get bendable MDF for special sbbbox jobs and stuff....Great stuff
