HI i am possibly buying a thermal exhaust for my Talon, and i am just wondering what it would look like from behind and maybe even how the pipes hang underneath. I looked in the gallery and found one or two pictures but they wernt really what i was looking for. If any one can help me out I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance :talon:

The tip is big, The exhaust hangs a little low. Looks nice too me, I dont have any pictures yet.

I have a been collecting pics myself b/c I am thinking about buying a thermal. My only question is I plan on getting a 3" downpipe and I heard the flange on the thermal is only 2 1/2 and you have to weld your own 3" flange on. Do you know if this is true?

yes you are correct. when you go full 3" you will have to cut off about 6" of the mid-pipe to remove the 2 1/2-3" cross over and have a full 3" w/flange welded on in its place. i have a hahn dp and high flow cat...it comes 6" longer than a stock dp/cat combo to account for having to cut off the cross over section that is in most cat-back systems.

check my gallery. I bought my exhaust used and the previous owner of it must have had it cut and welded because it's 3 inch all the way back with a test pipe and shop made downpipe. :thumb: And it sounds frickin great, but it's pretty loud.

I have nothing but positive things to say about my Thermal exhaust. I love it. Sounds great and gives a noticable performance differernce. You will, as the other guy said, have to modify it if you go with a 3" downpipe/cat in the future.

Does the tubing of the mid pipe actually taper down to 2 1/2 inches at the front, is that why I would have to cut off 6 inches. I plan on buying a 3" SS downpipe that is long enough to eliminate the cat. I would have to cut 6" off of the Thermal midpipe to get rid of the 2.5" section and then extend it 6" with 3" SS tubing to make a true 3" system, correct?

I don't believe that it was nearly 6" that needed to be cut off. I think it was more like maybe 3" or so. At the very end of the pipe just before the flange the pipe tapers down to fit on the stock cat. You will need to cut off that piece and weld a 3" flange on to match it up to the aftermarket downpipe. You may or may not need to add a piece of tubing. It depends on how long your downpipe is. I got the Apexi 3" downpipe and if I remember correctly I didnt' have to add a piece as the pipe was long enough to match up to the exhaust with the tapered part removed.

So an Apexi 3'' downpipe wouldn't connect to a thermal? Can you buy an adaptor that would convert to match the stock cat? I'm asking because i want to buy a Thermal System, but i'm stumped on what Downpipe would connect with the least amount of headaches. I'm open for suggestions my self. :)

As I recall the Apexi downpipe did not bolt directly up to the Thermal Exhaust. I had to cut the Thermal Exhaust where it started to taper down and put a 3" flange on it so I could bolt it to the downpipe. If you can find a 3" flange that will bolt up to the Apexi downpipe it really isn't that big of a headache. My problem was that I couldn't find a flange and had to make my own.
