I'm considering one of these for my 92 GSX (Red). I'm def. going with the sand black finish on the DV-8 or the black finish for the Vision, but I'm trying to get some pics of both to decide. I found a member with a nice setup using 18" Visions, but have yet to find anyone with (preferrably black) DV-8s. Any help is greatly appreciated. 17s or 18s, thanks.

I'm planning on using a 225 width tire, so a 7.5" wide wheel (like the 18" Vision) is preferred, though they'll work on a 7" wide wheel too.

Ask and you shall receive: My Sand Black ADR DV-8's, I took off all the lettering because the cheap plastic sticker lettering would not have lasted through one carwash. Besides I like the clean look.

Thanks for your response, Brad. I've been trying to get some info on the DV-8's for at least a week now. I was wondering about all the lettering...whether it was painted on or stickered, but you answered that question for me. Stickers...that's a relief! Taking them off would've been one of the first things I did as well. ONE other question though...you didn't happen to weigh them did you? I asked on here, I emailed ADR, I looked on the net. I can't find anything except for one guy that said they were 14.5lbs a piece, and then some guy on here that said they were heavy. (14.5lbs isn't heavy in my opinion if that's the actual weight) What's your opinion on the weight?

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,

I did put one of them on my scale from my bathroom. It weighed in at 21 lbs, however that could be off about 2 lbs because when I put one of my 16lb bowling balls on the same scale it weighed 18 lbs. So my guess is about 19 to 20 lbs per wheel on the ADR DV-8's.

Hope that helps you out. Oh yeah, when you get them mounted I would like to see pics..

Brad

WORD! Hey, those look great! Are those the 17x7s? What size tires?? Thanks!

Kick ASS. That's all the information I really needed. Thanks a LOT!

Now the question is this. For about the same money I can get 17x7s with 225/45/17s, or 18x7.5s with 225/40/18s. Both yield about the same diameter and due to differences in mass distribution, nearly the same rotational intertia (with the 18" combo obviously having a little more r.i.). 225/45/17s offer me more choices in tire, but 18s just look so damn good. Opinions?

I think 17's look good all around. 18's look good, but it seems everywhere I live has roads like ass cracks, I wouldn't be comfy with 18's. Plus I like to save money where I can, so the cost of replacing tires is better with the 17's.

Yeah, I'd be worried about damaging the rim with 40 series rubber on 18s. The last thing I need it to have to repair or replace a rim. I guess 17s it is, with 225/45/17 rubber since the consensus is that the 225s will fit a 7" rim just fine. A 7.5" rim would be better, but would cost a LOT more. Thanks for the input!
