Hey Guys,

Well I just finished taking off all of my parts on my WRX (trading in for a truck) and my PE1820 turbo is in pristine condition, so...... Just wondering what you guys think about putting this turbo on my 4G63? Do you think it would be too much of a hassle since it would require making a manifold if not trying to get a flange onto the stock manifold as. These turbo are one of the higher end turbos for the WRX's and are water cooled as well as oil cooled, they are rated somewhere around 450hp. When I had it on my WRX I never took it over 14.7lbs. since I didn't have a fuel system, they say this turbo isn't happy until 17+lbs. I would love to see what this thing can do. Below are some pics of the turbo and comparison pics as well.

First three problems that come to mind
1. your going to have to rotate the compressor housing to get it to work and point in the right direction
2. your going to have to get a special exhaust manifold to get it to bolt up
3. your going to need a special o2 housing to get it going to a downpipe, or get someone to make a downpipe fit the stock o2 housing

4. Your going to be fighting boost control issues with that internal wastegate.

I would just sell it and get a PTE turbo for your DSM and an external wastegate setup.

Boost control issues with an internal gate??? All you ineed is an external dump o2 housing, which I have with my 20g and ported the internal wastegate to 34mm. I get NO boost problems what-so-ever.

Look at the turbine outlet side of the exhaust housing. Now think about what you just said. Do you see a divider there? So how is external dump O2 housing going to work?

Anyway, I agree with the others on this one. It would be much easier to just sell this turbo to someone with a wrx, and get a 50 trim (PTE, AGP, whatever) that is made for your car.

Good luck.

Screw that. Rotate the compressor housing, that is easy. I am not familiar with Scooby turbos, but if it has a T3 flange there are off the shelf manifolds you can get easy. Then just have a reputable exhaust shop make you a DP with an O2 bung in it. It isn't rocket science, it will just take a couple minutes online and a decent exhaust shop. It will be nice to see someone on the board do something different than getting a "50 trim".

Boost creep? Just turn up your boost until you get none, problem solved.

I like that solution. Too many people running not enough boost.

Welding one in is no big deal... And stop being an ass it's rude.

Sorry you thought I was being an ass, but seriously, this is going to be one big frankenstein turbo setup, all hacked and tweaked. More trouble than its worth.

Yeah, you could weld in a divider for the wastegate door. Why would you want to do that? Seems like a waste of space to me. All you need is the proper flange to bolt up to the back side of the exhaust housing and fab up a piece to go there. Once again, not rocket science. My friend has a GN and his exhaust housing has a setup similar to that. It is just different than a DSM. But it appears that if it is different than any other DSM on the board, then it is impossible. Who says that turbo is gonna creep anyways. You guys ever think that the exhaust housing design has anything to do with creep at all? Floorguy724, how many guys do you know who have that turbo on WRX's including yourself? Did you ever get creep with it? I would guess no, so what's the problem? Just get a manifold and a DP and you will have no problems.

Oh, and what do you mean by hacked and tweaked? Home Depot jobs are hacked and tweaked, custom professional jobs are nice and impressive. Just because it's not a bolt on doesn't mean it is hacked and tweaked.

There are a few people with WRX's running them but they are switching over to the FP Green now, due to the price of this turbo. When I had my Greddy gauge on the car it would hit 1 bar and stay there pretty solid. I think in the end I am just going to sell the PE1820 since I will be buying a Nissan Titan tomorrow and I am sure I will need the money for the gas  as well as to finish building my KA-T engine.
