PCV VALVE ?? wise man

i have been reading about this PCV VALVE.. but as much as i read i have yet to see its functions exsplaind can some one that knows what there talking about help me out hear and can this valve be the reason my car is burning white somke ? i did a comp test (150-162) and i have checked the turbo there was very minute play was going to take it off but befor i do that i wanna know if this valve could be the reason for my problom sorry if this a stupid newb question thanx yall

The PCV valve isn't the reason for your white smoke-- all it does it help vent excess pressure in the top of the head/valve cover. Some people (myself included) even remove the PCV valve in favor of a straight through fitting and route the PCV hose into a catch can.

White smoke is usually water, which could mean blown head gasket or something else water leak related.

yeah i just called mike (a dsm god in atlanta) and he said the same thing only that he said it could be putting oil into the intake while under boost and that could be the poblom but we will see tomarrow i am going to pull it and cap it on the intake and just let it hang drive around for a while see if that helps any i will let you know


ohhh yea mike told me he was converting a mirage to awd at the moment

That's possible-- light blue oil smoke can easily be mistaken for white smoke sometimes. Good luck with it.
