Hi, well it's time to change my oxygen sensor, the sensor has 2 wires but, can I use a talon 4 wire sensor? sure,I know it has a heater wire and heater ground wire whitch mine does not. I don't know much about oxygen sensors but, isn't there a wire from the battery side connected to the heater wire? I could be wrong and probaly are.

my stock O2 sensor was 4 wire, and the car had the plug for it. I opted for the one-wire universal sensor, since it cost about $25 and worked well with a A/F gauge. I know that one of the black wires from the 4 wire sensor is the siganl one, and the others are the heater and ground ones.

how fast does it take to get a accurate a/r reading after you start the car, I heard the 4 wire sensors are accurate cause they heat-up faster and besides I can get a 4 wire sensor for $25.00 off ebay. I need a accurate one because, I have a 2g turbo airmass

well, mine about 3-5 min. I think. Sometimes it's really fast, like I start the car and I run it a bit and the gauge starts working from there on. It's a bosch O2 sensor installed in the downpipe. I still have the 4 wire one with the plug, the other one is just for the gauge.

hmmm? you mean your o2 sensor is in the downpipe, mine is in the exhaust manifold. Is it better in the downpipe then in the exhaust manifold???

I wish you the best luck! Mine was installed using a ford something spark plug adapter I think. It was welded, and works great.

well, the OEM one is in the manifold, so I installed the other one in the two-to-one part of the exhaust pipe. I think that what it's called. Im from PR(spanish) so we call it different here. I know mine reads fine, drops all the way when I let off the gas and runs mostly on the stoich part, sometimes rich, but my fuel press. is about 47-50 always, with the stock regulator.

I would think it would get a better mix being further down the exhaust than on the manifold, as it would read from all the cylinders instead of just the ones nearby. Then again, being further down the pipe might cause lag in the reading as well.
The elbow just after the turbo seems a great place, as it follows both criteria.
Any opinions from the gurus on where the best place for an 02 sensor?
