Over heating and rod bearing fix?

Will bad rod bearings make your car over heat? If i keep this car i am gonna change the rod bearings. maybe the crank if its bad. the radiator since its nasty looking. the thermostat again. the radiator cap. If i have good compression and nothing leaks or smokes. what else could make it overheat? Also can i just change my rod bearings one by one with it in the air? what are the pro's and cons? 95 gs 5spd 94,540 miles

maybe clogged coolant passages or a blown headgasket....

from my mistake i thought it was a hg and put copper sealant in it. found out it was a leaking thermostat drinking water down the back of the block. head has good compression. i hope its not a blocked off passage
