Old bridge,

other day i went to hop in my car and go for a ride and wouldn't start, after doing some trouble shooting i discovered the pump was not kicking on, i jumped power to the plug by battery and pump would kick on after taping top of sending unit for lil bit so i deemed the pump on its way out, i had a waboro 255 laying around so i put that in to see if that was my issue. the car started up for bout a sec head a pop then died no dash light nothing it popped the fuse by battery i changed the fuse car cranked slowly i unplugged the pump in the back it cranks fine plug it in it cranks like battery is verge of death volt meter on battery has 12v, could i possibly have a short somewhere? is it possible sending unit is going bad and shorting out there? car is a 1992 awd m/t any pointers where to look?
Where does the fuel pump wire run from I wanna run a new wire to it incase it's the supply wire shorting out

. You may have just drained the crap out of your battery trying to start it and it not kicking in for you. Did you rewire the fuel pump back to normal before proceeding to start your car after installing the new/used pump? I'd purchase a new pump to start and not worry about adding new wires. Things like that rarely just crap out all the sudden unless you were working under the hood blindly or ran over something. hope this helps
