Okay I've read up on a few threads in the handling tech section I just can't post there yet because I'm considered a noob, so wanted to ask ya guys here what you think.

My goal:
To run something wider than stock, pref. 17's, as far as performance pertaining to the tire don't really care my GS-T is just my daily driver anyways so just want something simple and not to flashy so with that in mind...

I've seen these sell on ebay a few times and I really like the stock GSX wheels, however before seeing these my mind set was to run something bit wider, 17x7 with +40 offset with the usual recommend tire size of 225-45 however I was wondering since it's not 17x8 would still run fine without rubbing? I read in a thread that someone ran the stock Evo8 wheels but was never clear on if they had to get spacers or roll fenders...thanks

It's the tires that rub, not the wheels (at least on a 2g) and it's tire width that determines that effects clearance not wheel width.

For 225/45/17's, stay close +45mm offset and you won't have any fender clearance issues.

I run rims that are 17” x 7.5” with a 40mm offset and have 225/45/17 sized tires and I don’t have issues with rubbing. My rims and tires line up with the top of my fenders and I can barely fit my pinky between the damper fork. If you go with a bigger tire you will notice a wider turning radius though.
