I'm lookin to buy a seat and need some opinions on what to get. I love the evo recaro's myself and would like something like that. I was thinkin of buying the sparco torino but i don't want to spend that much money on something i may not like. I am 6'4" and around 180 so i don't need a fatass seat. Something similar to the evo seats would do just fine. Thanks.

The recaro evo seats (from what I've read) can be installed with the torino bracket (with two holes drilled out). They will definitely sit higher than stock. At 6'4" I don't think it is a good seat choice. Sparco Torino *supposedly* sits about 1 1/2" lower than stock. Might want to try that instead. Let me know how it goes.

Don't waste your money on cheap seats. You'll regret it. Don't just look here but check out the reviews on other car forums about all the seats your thinking about. Your going to end up spending good money on a good set of seats so make sure you do a lot of research. Most sparcos you can't go wrong with.

True! I just installed a pair of APC seats (yeah I know, but I got them for Christmas so I'm not out any cash). Anyway, I had to do a lot of drilling and grinding on the brackets to get the seats to fit onto them, they're not very confortable, and the seats sit way too high in the car. My legs now rub the bottom of the steering wheel in my driving position. I think I can get the seats about 1/4" lower but need to take everything apart again and remove some spacers between the seats and the sliders. I'll be saving up for some nicer seats for the future but for now, I'll just have to live with what I got.

Cheap seats are definitely not the way to go. In the event of an accident, APC seats have been known to buckle in the middle and have been known to be a contributing factor in breaking peoples backs. If your'e gonna go with aftermarket seats, spend the good money, otherwise just buy some seat covers and call it a day.

A while back a guy came into work with some tenzo seats. They looked good IMO but man were they faded :thumbdown ......so not only can cheap seats be uncomfortable but also will fade realy fast....just my 2 cents. :dsm:

Agreed, Tenzo is just another rice brand like APC.

Any links or articles that back up this claim? I've never heard THAT before.

When APC starts supplying seats to WRC and F1 teams, is the day I start trusting their products. Until then I'm sticking with my Sparco seats. Enough said. I value my life too much to be killed by a cheap seat.
I'm just looking out for you. I don't want to see anyone die or be really hurt due to a cheap seat failing on them.

As others have stated, safety should be a primary consideration to looks. If you can't afford quality seats, stick with the stockers--at least they are safe.

Any seat that is FIA Homulgated is a very safe choice. I would only consider putting those in my car. I would also suggest sitting in some seats before purchase. The difference between EVO and EVOII is 2" in the butt, but it makes a big difference in how it fits.

A seat is a seat. Nothing will save you if you are hit with enough impact to break your back.

i had an apc seat in my neon when my brother rolled it at about 80mph. the seatback broke and fell backwards into the fully reclined position. not safe.

Evo8/9 recaros are nice seats, they hold you in good, and are affordable.

to be honest i love the 1g talon seats they are comftorable have a lot of support and are easy and cheap to come by..

The leather and cloth are two diffrent seats. I had cloth in my 90 they were okay. But the leather ones in my 91 hug you like your aunt that you havent seen in a couple of years.

That's a safety feature! It keeps your head from being crushed by the roof of the car :sneaky:

Funny thing is... it flipped 270 degrees before it touched down, so he never touched the roof! The car was jacked up tho...
