I own a 1990 talon tsi and I am scheduled to get the car painted next week. The car is two tone black and silver with the perforated looking decal stripe where the two colors come together. My problem here is you can no longer get that stripe my local Chrysler dealer informed me it was discontinued in 2006. My plan was to paint match the car original and do all new decals but now I’m wondering if
1. I should just paint the car all black because my inability to get the new decal stripe and would changing the paint to one color take away from the value?
2. Have the car painted the original two tone and not put the decal back on?
3. Ask them to tape off the decal stripe and paint the car and try to save it that way?
Biggest concern being I do not want to take away from the value of the vehicle. This car is a one owner completely stock never modified with only 80,xxx miles and I still have all original books and papers including window and sticker and all service records from 1990 to current. Any input would be helpful. Thanks
