Hey guys need some suggestions and opinion before I make a purchase.
Situation: My buddy has a .70trim turbo with an external wastegate and a turbo manifold...He wants to sell it to me for $500.00 but i dont know what else I would need for it once I purchase it. My set up right now is a 16g td05 with stock intenals and fmic , fuel command flow, and cold air intake. Any suggestions on what should I do.

You will need some way to tune afrs and much bigger injectors than stock and a larger fuel pump, along with a afpr. Depending on the exhaust housing on the turbo you may need a different o2 housing as well. A .70trim is a big turbo. There are lots of things to consider before installing it so that you dont blow the engine.

Yea a 70 trim is pretty large, if you have the stock exhaust and o2 housing you will probally get boost creep. As mentioned you will most likely need a fuel pump, injectors, fuel pressure regulator, something to tune it all and a full exhaust system so your not bottlenecking it. What wastegate is going to be included ?

If it's a decent deal snatch it up, go big or go home ( maybe someday you'll be able to spool it :p )

If anything buy it and sell it to someone else and make a few bucks on it. 500 isn't half bad for a 70 trim.

Has anyone here ever actually seen a 70 trim turbo? Probably not.

The compressor wheel in the pics appears to be about the size of a 50-trim, but there's never a good clear shot of the center housing so I can't tell anything more about the turbo other than it's using a standard T3 center housing (probably journal bearing). Only removing the cover and measuring the wheel will tell you it's size spec. It doesn't sound too bad for the money- you'll get the turbo, a SFP manifold, and a Tial wastegate for $500.

It appears that the hold-downs which mount the turbo to the turbine housing are missing....make sure you're getting all of the parts you need for the money you're paying.

What does seeing the turbo have to do with needing to upgrade the fuel system and needing a tuning system? Then add exhaust and an intercooler. He asked what he would need to run the turbo and those are minimums for anything larger than a 16g. 500 probably isnt a bad price but he will need to spend a pretty good amount on supporting components before he can run it safely.

You can pick up the turbo slap it on the car and just try and keep the boost set low by either running spring pressure or just keeping the boost controller set low. You already have a FMIC, and it sounds like you have an afpr, are you getting that manifold with it or no? You'll need probably a 255 rewired, a full exhaust, bigger injectors and atleast something to tune your afr with.

Everything in the Picture I'm getting I don't know what else I would need to complete the job. The existing parts I dont know if I can use? I've got A greddy FMIC, B&M fuel pressure guage and regulator, Stock Injectors, Stock Fuel rail, 255 fuel pump, I know my Injen Intake wont fit it cause its a 2.5 inch and it takes a 4 inch to the inducer. I also got a MBC. I am looking for really bolt on and setup with low boost around the price range of $500.00 more..can it be done? Also my 02 housing needs to be replaced any good websites for where I can get one?

everything for 500 thats a deal. but dont throw it on till your fuel system can support it. truth being told running that thing on low bosst youd probably still be faster with your current turbo

I dont have the hold-down deal though that bolts the turbo in...any Ideas where I can get one,? dont want to buy if the turbo cant be bolted on to the housing and I also need some info on where I can get a 02 housing that would fit this thing. The current owner had it for awhile he doesnt have the piece to connect it together..

Then what's the point of having the bigger turbo? The only thing he's going to gain is lag. :boring:

I don't think anyone builds an o2 housing for the wide 4-bolt outlet like that turbine housing has. Whatever you end up with would probably be custom-built.

website for punishment company? I still would need the hold-down deal any Ideas, would a clamp hold that thing down and not cause any leak
