ok so im coming home tonight on a kinda long open road in the laser (mods are in my sig, not many whatsoever) cruising at about 45 mph, and there was a car a decent amount behind me most of the way (say, 6-7 car lengths) then outta nowhere i see him nail it and come up on me fast. as i see him get into the oncoming lane to pass me. i drop it into 3rd and floor it for the hell of it to see if i could hold him off. i put up a fight but he still got past me. at that point i could hear the V8 growlin' as it made its way around me. and noticed that it was a brand new mustang. didnt even have plates yet. he then proceeded to stand on it to leave me in the dust, but he couldnt put more than a car's distance between us the whole time, i even let off a tiny bit here and there because i felt i was getting a little TOO close for comfort...... so here's my question.... was his initial effort to pass me too much of a jump for me to be able to catch right up easily to prevent him from passing me?.... should i have dropped all the way to 2nd briefly? (i dont think i like the sound of that). or are the new GT's just plain too quick (i think an 04 cobra woulda murdered me , so im pretty sure it was only a GT)... regardless im not terribly upset that i wasnt able to hold him off. because no matter what. im sure the fact that he couldnt get the little stock blue laser off his ass HAD to ruin the "i just got a brand new bad ass fast v8 car" feeling at least a little.
