Ive noticed lately that my PCV hose running to my intake is oily. Is oil secreting from the line, or what? It looks like it is sweating, but its oil. Theres no leaks around anywhere, so its not like it is blowing from the valve cover and misting the line. Should I replace the hose with something a lil thicker, or should I get a breather/filter (but i dont want to clean up the constant mess i hear which they create). Any suggestions would be helpful.

first...How old it the hose?? fairly new??

I doubt it's the oil seeping thru since there barealy any oil going down the tube...

Just go in your nearest autozone or murray's and pick up one of them in-line breather filters. They are like $2 and no mess to clean up!! :thumb:

here is pic of it on my old talon...

Im assuming it is just the hose from the factory, I havent replaced it. Any specific name or type of that in-line breather filter? I see those APC filters that arent surrounded in a casing, i dont want one of those. But that setup you had looks like it would work really well.

acutally i still have it. Got another one of those for my current dsm. Yeah that's the nice thign about it, the fact that the filter is enclosed in a plastic capsule so no oil leaking around.

Ehhhh i don't recall the name. It's just generic brand with yellow and orange paper backing. You can find it in the ile with the universal hose fittings and such....

If you wouldn't keep your engine so damned clean, it wouldn't be a problem.

It's a motor, not a dinner plate.

Jealousy is a stinky calogne!  :D

But how much fun is it when you go to check your oil and it takes you 15 mins to wash your hands?

That reminds me...I do need to clean my engine again, theres a layer of dust on everything :p
