Oilpump cover & Main Seal

In the manual it talks about a special tool to put on the crankshaft when reinstalling the oilpump cover. It looks like an insert to let the front main seal slide in to place. Is there something to use in place of this or do I just slowly press the seal over the front of the crankshaft. I figured a light coat of lubricant would help the process. What have others done?

I did not use a special tool. I just oiled the inside of the seal with my finger, and slid it on with no problems.
