I finished assembling my engine this weekend, got the engine back in the car, everythings bolted up and I was looking through a box that had my thermostat housing gaskets in it and found the metal ring that is supposed to go on the inside of the main seal. When I installed the seal, I used RTV sealand instead of the gasket they gave me, and I know its sealed ok that way, but now I'm worried about it leaking out the seal and into the flywheel and clutch.
I'd rather not pull the engine and tranny again, but I will if I have too... should I pull it and install that clip? What exactly does it do?
