so I changed my oil 30 miles ago and I just checked it and its all thin and reeks of fuel, but it is still clear. I'm just wondering what could cause that? it doesn't seem to be bogging like it's rich or anything. It's all stock fuel system, just a rewired stock pump. I plan to pull the injectors out to see if one is leaking, otherwise I can't think of anything. any ideas?
BTW 1990 talon tsi AWD w/146K

check your compression and see if you have a weak cylinder before you start spending $ on other parts. Also check fuel pressure and make sure the rewire didnt take its toll on the stock 146k mile regulator. You can pull the injectors but cant tell if one leaks by looking at it(unless you know something I dont). They would have to be flowed on an injector machine which cost $. Try the obvious and inexpensive first because you can spend alot on parts replacing and still find nothing. I spent over $1000 on replacement parts to find I had water in my "fresh" fuel.

compression is 160 - 145 - 145 - 150, a little weak I know, have to wait til monday to check fuel pressure. none of the injectors leak when I just test wire the pump, so that's not it. it's weird because the car runs good and doesn't show any signs of running rich at all.

ya, I pulled the rail + injectors out of the head before I did anything, that way I could just watch them. I was mainly just looking for a stuck pintle.

Stock FPR might be toast. Vaccum drawing boost in thru a broken reference port diaphram.

Either that or a stuck pintle but you checked that. It did'nt teleport it'self into the crank case so check the FPR...

One way to do that is to splice a clear fuel filter into that vaccline. See droplets and their is the gremlin.
