So after 170 thousand miles my original 7 bolt motor in my 98 GSX finally decided to take a shit on me. Now I bought another freshly rebuilt 7 bolt from a very trusted freind and it has all new rotating parts oil pump bottom end and head. I had all 2g parts on this car and have not really bothered to do much till now. with that said i had the original oil cooler going through the filter and what not. now this new motor has a oil pump on it that does not have any way to cool my oil to my knowledge. i am also not able to get the turbo cooled now either can someone help me identify what i got going on. I mean i know that it is a 7 bolt becuase i saw it on the crank ha. and also i wasa going to keep my water pump because it wasa brand new from my other motor i tried to install it on the new block and none of the bolt hole would line up as well. Now a buddy of mine asked me to pull the pain to check to see if it is a turboed motor and it does haave squirters. I honestly hope i gave enough info to help myself help you guys before i posted. i will attatch a photo as well

Um I don't understand what you are referring to but I'm curious as to what pump I got. I wanna kno if I have to get a external oil cooler leave it the way it is or buy the complete set up for a oils filter cooled setup again.

He's referring to just changing oil filter housings. Take the one from you old motor an swap it with the one on the new motor.

That's the thing. The water pump hydraulic tensor and pulleys wouldn't bolt up. And same for the oil pump. I'm stumped to be honest because I thought they all where pretty much identical. Are they not?

The oil filter housing in the picture looks to be an evo oil filter housing. You could run an external oil cooler which is better then the water cooled one.
Also if you don't have water lines for your turbo they are probably just plugged. You could change that easily.

Now if your old motor was a 7 bolt and your new motor is a 7 bolt the parts will be interchangeable. Now are you sure the motor you bought is not a 1g 7bolt?

Also if you don't have the water lines to where the oil filter housing is you probably got a 2g NT water pipe.

How would I run a external oil cooler on this on. Just where the two goldish bolts are?

I do have lines for the turbo but my old motor had a banjo bolt in the block for a water line. This one does not.

I do have the water pipe that's correct for the turbo vs. my problem is not running oil to go through a controlled area because the oil filter housing doesn't have the sandwich nor the extrnal line space I believe

Yep those big bolts you can use to run an external oil cooler. Check out b&m oil cooler.

Also there is a writeup on here about installing it.
