what are the symptoms of a oil pump going bad?

Low. Oil. Pressure. -> Bearings -> Siezed motor. With a DSM, I find it is a necessity to have an AFTERMARKET oil pressure gauges.

Leaking oil out of the timing belt cover is a sign. Oil on the belt, etc. What are you seeing/hearing/feeling....tasting?

I dont know if my gauge is bad but it is the stock one and it says the oil pressure is low. There is oil in the car

I see... The stock pressure gauge is garbage. People are going to tell you to get an aftermarket one, especially if you have any mods done.

My stock gauge will read "0" at warm idle and just above the first notch at 60 mph, or ~2800 rpms.
Aftermarket read 20 psi idle and 60-70psi at the same rpms.

is that ok cause that is what i see on my stock gauge or does the pressure need to be higher??

If it goes up around 1/2 way while driving it, you should be fine. Boost/Vac., Oil pressure and a Wideband are all a must for these cars, especially when modifying.

You can buy one from your local auto parts store, and just for the purpose of testing your oil pressure there's a small plug in the left hand side of your cylinder head. Its 1/8 NPT, buy an oil pressure gauge with this fitting and thread it in this hole to check it against the factory specs.
