I've been trying to find a good guide for replacing the front gaskets on my car. I can't find much mostly just the oil filter housing or the balance shaft elimination install. I'm sure its about the same but want to know if I can pull it off while in the car to change the gasket. The reason is I'm getting an oil leak at the front of the engine and want to replace all those gaskets. I already have a gasket kit for advanced to replace them. Any tips or pointers before I tackle this would be great. Thanks.

Front case does not come off all by itself. You have to drop the pan and unbolt the pickup tube. If you have a leak are you sure it isnt' just a seal? In 20 years I've never seen an oil pump gasket leak, not that it couldn't. I've seen lots of seals get old and leak and they can be replaced with the pump/cover in place.

Ya I'm not sure. Originally I was thinking it was the oil filter housing gasket I got the whole kit from the parts store and was going to replace them all at once. This is the kit I got Beck/Arnley Oil Pump Install Kit Part No. 039-8016. I want to install all of them.

Yeah, most leaks I've ever seen have been the cam seals and the crank seal, both somewhat easy to replace after talking off the timing belt.

I don't see any oil coming from the top of the motor around the cam seals though. I don't know about this p.o.s. LOL I guess I just have dsm love or I would sell it but I'd rather fix and enjoy this car.

It's been two days. Should've been fixed by now. :)
Replace the gasket if you want but if it were me I'd just do seals. Oil filter housing you can do gasket if you wish. No big deal there. Lots of places for oil to leak, Filter housing/cooler, seals, turbo feed and return. Oil pressure sensors. Clean it up and go look.

Ya if I wasn't working 12 hours a days a week it would be fixed by now i finally get a weekend off so I will be in there tracking this leak down
