just pulled both balance shaft and oil pump shaft out of the block to find that my oil pump shaft is chewed up and the bearing is in the oil pan...im pissed...i just need to replace the bearing on the oil pump side right? :banghead:

I checked the crank and it was fine, just pulled the end caps off. All the metal went to the bottom of the pan + the bearing. I noticed it when I pulled off my front case to finish up my balance shaft delete and noticed that the drive gear for the pump shaft had chewed into the housing.

Even though you checked your crank and the bearing fell to the bottom of the oil pan there are still little peices of metal that went into your oil. your oil pump picks up these little peices of metal and can be anywhere throughout your engine now and once you put the motor back together you have a spun bearing from these little peices of metal. Trust me this is why im now doing my rebuild. I would suggest tearing your motor down the rest of the way and getting it cleaned and replacing all your bearings and check all your clearances. It wont be much more money or work than your about to do already. just my.02.

well ive done the shaft delete, changed cases (i have 2 blocks, just pulled the new one off the other one), new pulleys and sprockets, im gettin ready to put the hks belt back on. i have cp pistons, eagle h-beam rods, and eagle crank. i wish i didnt have to replace all of that crap just cause of one shaft bearing. i have a new oil pan and pick-up also.
