Sorry to lure you in like this but they wont let me post in the tech section...
Im thinking about buying a 90 awd talon but when it idles at normal op. temp. I noticed the oil gauge pinned on high! Then proceded around to the back to see the exaust producing some white smoke, this is recently in northern texas. Any feed back or suggestions?

You can still post in the Newbie forum, where there is more traffic than in the Tech forums.

And you can use a descriptive thread title from now on.

High oil pressure is always good. I don't know how the climate is in N. Texas but if its cold over there, it may just be condensation built up in the tail pipe.

Question: When the guy started the car up, was the motor already warmed up or was it cold? If it was cold then it's condensation.

It actually was video, but the gauge was at normal preration temp. and they said it does get cold there...

I would guess that it has started burning oil, and to combat it, the current owner's have dumped in a thicker grade. So instead of helping the problem, they are actually making it worse, by accelerating wear even further.
