after getting a 120 psi compression check i decided to rebuild my engine and found large amounts of oil in the intake manifold and intake ports. also, the oil/sludge has a green tint as if it had coolant mixed with it. all four ports are caked. and the head was just rebuilt with new valves and seals 2000 miles ago.

Did your car burn any oil? Did you see a cloud of smoke as you punched the gas? If so then this could be the turbo cauing the pooling of oil in your intake. Intercooler pipes oily?

some oil in pipes but none more then usual.. there is large amounts of sludge and oil in the intake ports of the head and the runners of the intake mani. the oil doesn't continue into the intake manifold, only in the runners. also the sludge has a green tint, will post pics soon.

oil and coolant do not mix, the green sludge is not a mix of the two. Oil and coolant make a chocolate milk looking goop when they mix.

Your car has this nice system called a PCV valve, which, when the car is idling, and the intake manifold in vacuum, draws in pressure from your valve cover to recycle it into the engine. If the car has been idling for a long time, or sitting, a buildup might occur. Otherwise, if there is no oil elsewhere in the intake system, and the head is in good shape, that is the only logical explanation.

coolant and oil were pooled in the port of cylinder 4. and the sludge in all 4 ports looked a little green. could the egr not working properly have anything to do with the extra carbon build up because i noticed port 4 which is closest to the egr has the most build up. and i don't think i connected the egr right.
