So I sold my car a couple months ago. For those who don't remember I had the megan racing dp on my gsx, but I had to have it hacked together to fit right because I had an "odd" o2 housing.

Anyways the guy who I sold my car to yesterday calls me and tells me that "the dp cut a hole in my oil pan"

First off I'm thinking "What the hell did you do ? Jump the car?"

So anyways he explains the situation today and says that from what a couple shops have told him, the dp was rubbing against the oil pan while shifting and gradually rubbed a hole in the oil pan.

Now from what I remember the dp was at least 1-2 inches away from the oil pan when I had the car.

For those of you who haven't had experience with the megan piece, it is a good quality product but the SS isn't very thick.

In my mind there is NO way that a thin stainless steel dp could "rub through" an oil pan.

Am I correct in thinking this?

sounds like he probably tore up the motormounts to get it to rub... his fault for not catching it in time...

sucks to be him.

I like that oil drainign  Whell thats what happens when you don't check on the car. Sucks to be him.

Why are there caterpillars on the weld? And omigod, a FRAM oil filter, the world will end.

Look at the front of the pan. He ran into something.

yeah and I had the exhaust "professionaly" done. What a joke. Sounded awesome though.

Oh and that picture is actually from when I hard the car, and the scratches are from the previous owner.

The fram filter - yeah I know, I think it was actually at the time of that picture that I switched to a purolater (notice the oil coming out of the oil drain).

So anyways, does the rubbing through theory sound plausible?
