What line is this? I'm currently in the middle of doing a 14b swap. I took out the t25 & sold it. I have all the coolant lines & oil lines I need. I was told I needed to plug up the hole from the OFH, but I'm having trouble finding WHERE to plug it. So please let me know. Tools and turbo are sitting outside, I'm going external as well. Thanks :thumb:

Solution
Big line in the pic is the oil drain, the smaller line to the right abit is the factory oil feed. Most remove this hard factory line & replace it with a SS braided aftermarket line as the stock T25 (garrett) turbo line won't bolt up to the Mitsu 14b. The 14b should be fed from the 1G stock location, which is a port off the side of the head and is plugged with a bolt and crush washer on a 2G head.

Check out VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions it has a couple 16g turbo installs (same as 14b) as well as a whole lot of other info, you may need to know.

Got it installed. Tight fit though. The 1g return line seems to be SLIGHTLY leaking. The turbo had to be pulled up in order to be bolted to the manifold with famous ARP manifold studs :thumb:

But other than that, everything else went smoothly. I visited Advanced Autoparts, Napa, Zettlers, Lowes, and Sutherlands and STILL could not find a bolt to plug up the OFH. I think Im just going to use the lil bolt thats on the line and put some weld in it to fill the hole. Thats the easiest and quickiest soluition I have right now. I wish I could have finished it 100% today. BUT I also need to find a intake pipe to fit the 14b since its smaller than the t25 outlet? Sucks because I planned on it fitting. As well as the lower intercooler piping and the j-pipe... HOW is that going to work with my radiator fan??? Someone please explain with pics or something. My stock 1g j-pipe is just barely off the fan, let alone adding a coupler and the lower pipe :hmm:

Help is needed. Thanks too all with the replies on the line. I was dumb enough to follow them and think they were going to the oil cooler :ohdamn:

But now I know. Thanks for all helps, pics are appreciated.

yup. That's the oil line for the turbo

Yes it is, thanks. Any opions on clearing the radiator fan??? Or am I going to have to make custom mounts for the radiator OR go slim fans? Keep in mind this is a budget build.

Here are some pictures of what I have so far & Why I am stumped. Any help, hints, advice, suggestions, guesses, or facts would be GREAT!!!

Btw, before I found this site I PAID people to do exactly what I do now. Now I have my own tools, own parts, and own knowledge. Mad props to the founders. Thanks Luda :hellyeah:

Can you notch the fan shroud a little bit to help it fit? I had to cut some of the fan shroud out on my stock fans to fit my FMIC piping (short route piping). If you only cut part of the shroud it shouldn't hurt the integrity of the fan. I cut a whole piece out of the "support" I guess you could call it, for the fan motor and everything is fine. Been running it like that for over a year.

Sorry for the double post. The circled peice is the support I was talking about notching for fitment.

Okay yea I was thinking you was talking about the support bracket for the actual fan. But thanks for clearing that up, I think Im going to do that as well as fabbing some licp. Im going to need a 90 degree silicone coupler along with? Isnt there a black sleeve that usually goes on the 14b inlet??? Maybe that is why my intake doesnt fit snug over it.

Let me know.

OFH plugs can be bought from Mitsu, as the correct thread pitch of these isn't a common one you'd normally find at your local automotive/hardware store.

The reason why your jpipe won't fit is because the jpipes that most use on their 2g's are aftermarket & not designed the same way as the stock 1g. They are designed to clear stock fans, no problem as they make more of a tight U bend & then fire straight down to fit to an L shaped aftermarket pipe which will connect right up to the stock SMIC. Most of the site vendors will have the proper J pipe for your application (just make sure your getting one for the SMIC as the ones for short route FMIC setups are different).
