My oil light keeps flickering on and not steady on til its hot but only when actually driving, if coasting doesn't come on, but oil level is good and oil psi is good and accurate when comparing between the stock gauge and aftermarket. Any ideas? A bad sending unit or what?

Yea only comes on at idle after being hot and if put in neutral or park its usually off.. just started and no knew nosies other than the infamous lifter tick at times because of not havinng upgraded to 3g lifters yet.. but as said with both stock and aftermarket reading normal kinda figure bad sending unit..

Well thats different from what you said first. You said only when driving not idle. What is oil pressure at idle in gear?

Also you don't have to use 3g lifters. Just buy regular ones and change oil on time. You can also modify the stockers to make them better if you wanted.

At idle oil is 15 - 20 psi, and rarely light comes on at idle, its mainly only when driving that it comes on and/or stays on

Maybe its a bad electrical connection at the sending unit or its a bad sending unit. Old tin connectors can cause intermittent issues. I would inspect the pins on the connector first. You have verified that there is good oil pressure with an aftermarket gauge too, right?

Yes as I stated in my first post both aftermarket and stock is reading around the same psi at all times.

Just change the sensor for the light then. If your getting 15-20 at idle warmed uo in gear your good there. Where does your gauge get its reading from?

If its only when driving it is a possible clogged pickup screen but sensor is easy and cheap to start with.
