My oil gauge is constantly just a little above the low mark is this normal? It never moves or anything what is the normal place it should be? thank you!!!1

Have you checked your connections on the sending unit? you might have a dirty/bad connection causing it to read low.

what viscosity oil are you running?

Sometimes those wires get messed up real bad. Im actually having a similar problem but its not reading low, I need to rewire the whole thing but cant find a good diagram for it. Good luck

Mine does this as well. If I tweak the wires a bit it will act normally, and will then go back to low. It is hella filthy down there, though.

Mine is normly on the low side too. The connections i need to mess with are by the driver side tire right?

If it were me i would get a mechanical gauge and be done with it. They are very accurate and you will not have to guess if you have a problem or not.

I remember having to put the wire up again, but i guess, its because its crappy LOL. I looked over where the oil line was, and i had alot of oil around there, and my car is dropping little drops of black stuff, but my oil when i check the dipstick looks brand new??

the wires are running down from the alternator to the OFH. make sure they all have a nice, tight connection and there aren't any bare wires showing

I like mechanical the best. If you run a braided line and with the fittings you will have know problem. The nylon line is OK but i would go braided. Electrical is what you have now and mechanical gauges are all we run in are nascar cup cars. My vote is mechanical that's all i will run and there cheaper.

i would go mechanical. I have seen the electric one go bad pretty quick, both autometer and prosport. as long as you tighten all the lines done, you won't worry about oil leaking in your cabin.

Even with braided lines it still is not a safe way to do things. For a race car yes but for a street car no. And if the inspection shop catches it, it won't pass. Its not that it's just worrying about oil getting in your car it's that it could be scolding hot oil coming at you at almost 100psi.:nono:

People who have electrical oil gauge problems are those that do not read and follow instructions from the manufacturer and fellow dsmers. In that you must run a line from the filter housing to the sender unit to remove engine vibration. Doing this will give you many years of good life. My Autormeter has been in for over 2 years with no problems, and that's with a cheaper gauge on the market.
