I recently purchased a larger oil cooler for my 92 talon. It already had a crappy oil cooler zip tied to teh radiator. I'm replacing the old rubber line and barbed fittings with -10 AN fittings and -10 AN SS lines. My question is of where to mount it. The stock location and most common is the driver's side in front of the windshield washer bottle. However this location means that the cooler would have to be mounted at an extreme angle. This combined with washer bottle seems to me would restrict airflow and the cooler's effectiveness. My car has a front mount now and I was thinking why not mount it where the stock side mount was. This area has alot of free space and no restrictions in airflow. The only downside I see to this mounting solution is the length of the oil lines. I would venture to think this would be acceptable for the gain in airflow and space. I would like anyones opinions on this.
