oil cap?

hey every one i just got my ebay "hks"oil cap in and the min it was in the min i had it on i been having it for about 2 months now i have only drove the car about 5 6 times sens i got the oil cap i have seen oil by the spark plugs on the valve cover! can it be from the oil cap? the oil cap is always oily and sens my mottor gets really hot i alwasy smell burning oil can that be the smell thanks every one

Go to the dealership, or to Advance or Auto Zone, and pick up a new oil cap seal. Run double seals under your oil cap and see if that fixes it. You could even use the seal from your old cap provided it's in good shape and they sent you a new one with your e-Bay cap.

The Mitsubishi part number for that oil cap gasket is MD311638. If I remember correctly it was just over $1.

This is made for the stock oil cap, so whether or not if fits on your ebay cap, I'm not sure.
I personally have my old seal and a new seal on top of that to ensure a nice tight seal all the time. The only downside to this method is that the oil cap is hard to twist on at times.

thanks guys ima try that and i still have my stock oil cap and yes it is in good condition it looks new ima end up putting my stock cap on with a doubel seal thanks every one ill let you guys know if it fixes

Why would you need a double seal? Just replace the old one with the new seal and put it on.

I say that aftermarket oil caps are crap, especially after my Greddy oil cap leaked after about 6 months and I replaced it with a new Mitsubishi EVO Oil cap.
