I was having a few problems with how the car was running...
- CEL on... autozone said it was a MAS problem
- Bad idle... went anywhere from 400 to 1100rpms
- Always bogged in 1st gear
- If I ever let off the gas and tried to get back on it at 3000+ RPMs... the car would bog horribly.
I went to install my S-AFC today, and when I removed the left panel to get to the ECU, I saw a S-AFC harness already there. It was all wired up how it was supposed to be, just wasn't connected to the actual SAFC unit. However, it must have been a harness for the original SAFC... not the SAFC2, because the harness I have (SAFC2) has an extra pin (knock sensor?). So, i cut out the old harness and installed mine... reconnected the negative on the battery. Here's where things got better... CEL was gone... figured it'd come back on after a few minutes of having the car running like last time I reset the ECU. Drove around for about 20 minutes... never came back on. Ran a couple errands... still not on. Car doesn't bog anymore... anytime. And my idle is much better... starts out kind of high... 900-1100rpm, but once the car warms up it's in the 700-800 range. Feels like a completely different car! Can't wait until I actually get it tuned!
Could all of my problems really just have been because there was a SAFC harness wired to my car but not connected to anything?
Just thought this was interesting, and was wondering what you guys thought.
Thanks
