On Friday night my car wouldn't start after filling up on gas. I thought my ecu was fried because I thought I heard a clicking noise and my CEL was blinking on and off really quicklly. I swapped out my ECU with a friends and still it wouldn't start. After I put my old ECU back in I tried starting it again this time giving it some gas. It started very rough then behaved like normal, idled like usual and seemed normal. I wanted to let it warm up before driving so I let it idle for a few minutes. Then it just shut off out of nowhere and the ISC was clicking loud. Any ideas?

did you try to unplug the ISC and run it? Take it off and test the resistance. I know the figures are somewhere on this site.

I did start it up without the isc plugged in and it idle surged like crazy.I had to give it a lot of gas to start it up and had to occasionally give it gas in the beginning, then afterwards it was just idle surging. I shut it off to close the hood so I could test drive it then once again it wouldnt start back up even with giving it gas. Could it be a bad TPS? My data logger reading at one point was stuck at 94%, while my foot wasnt on the gas. Someone else thought it could be a faulty coil pack.

The resistance of the tps was fine. After I checked the resistance the car started right up. The idle was really high for a minute then it started surging really high. I'm scared to drive it anywhere because it might just not work again.

Block your FIAV and then report back...they go bad and cause this sort of problem. You can make a plate to block it but keep the ISC if you dont think you can make it then order one. There plenty of threads on it..check it out.

I havent got around to blocking the FIAV yet but I did change a broken section of the ECT wire. Yet still a very very rough start which doesnt last long and includes some whitish smoke. With the key two clicks over the datalogger was getting wild readings from the ecu. Only certain things were constant, timing was one and knock another. Most everything else was getting wild readings which fluctuated up and down quickly, coolant temp, EGR, ISC, TPS, 02, volts, etc. Not just on and off readings but actual fluctuating numbers.
