Odd starting problem.

When i go to start my car the rpms only jump to about 1300 and the battery light, and coolant (birdcage) light stay on. Once i start driving and the rpms get over 1500 both those lights go off. This mainly happens when the car has been sitting for a few hours when i go to start it. I had the alternator tested and it is running 175 constant amps, so its good. The battery is at a constant 14 volts, its a optima red top. This seems like a possible electrical problem, but i'm at a loss to what is causing it.

Yah I used to have the same problem with my car, then it blew up!

Not exactly what i was looking for, but i doubt my car is magically going to blow up. Any useful information would be great.
