Can anyone let me know if the OBX muffler is as good (sound and quality) as a Magnaflow. I just received my RNR exhaust and paid for a Magnaflow (extra $100.00) but received the OBX. Should I contact Ryan or is this muffler top quality?

Thanks in advance

Hmmmm...methinks OBX is a tad below magnaflow as they are the makers of really crappy headers. I'd say if you were supposed to receive a Magnaflow and you really got an OBX, that is a problem.

for some reason, i'd never put anything OBX on my car. i dont think OBX mufflers run about $100 on ebay. contact RNR and have them replace that OBX exhaust of yours. you didnt pay $100 for nothing, now did you?

Hey dak did anything ever happen for you? Im curious because my RnR came with an obx too, i expected something less ricey LOL. They mentioned something about bullet style whatever that is, with the 4inch N1 tip. I would rather a magnaflow instead of my obx so lemme know if you got them to hook you up, id say they owe me anyways since my muffler is all dented up from shipping, crappy packaging. :thumbdown

No Vicious I have had no reply from RNR as to what they will do about my system. I specifically requested the Magnaflow when ordered. I was not told that OBX muffler were even used. Did you know that you were not getting the bullet muffler? Anyway if Ryan is reading this, could you pm me.

Thanks

hmm.... monkey in the shipping dept while ryan is out welding? i ordered a full 3" ss exhaust last winter and received the bullet muffler with 4" tip at no extra charge... dunno

i had an obx on my GS for like 6 months..i HATED that thing...it was "ok" with my cat on...but with the cat off it had a bad rattle inside it that was just annoying as ####..send that pos back

Ryan at RnR told me that he would work with me towards a solution if I do not like the OBX muffler after I tested it for a while. Devilsperm, you said you did not like your OBX. Was it the R series?

Thanks

no idea..i got it from speed people back in 2002....im sure it was their cheapest one though, it came in a generic box

I hate to be rude but you shouldnt have to "test" anything. If you paid for something you should get it, bottom line. If they have options on there site then they need to get someone with an IQ high enough to read it and send it to the monkey making the products.

Ill leave it at that for now. You cant really bash or give praise to a vendor on tuners, but if you go to www.vendors-reviewed.com you can let it all out.

my advice is not to test out the exhaust. if u were to install it and call them saying u didnt like it, RNR might screw u over and not give u the credit of returning ur obx exhaust for a magnaflow since you've already "installed it."

send it back ASAP! you didnt pay them to recieve a random exhaust :thumbdown

If you did not receive what your ordered, send it back for an exchange or a refund.

i just got my 3" o2 elminator from RnR last week and it came with the 4" N1 Style muffler which is VERY nice, it looks really good and is polished so it sticks out blingin all over the place and sounds very deep and rumbly. Also a lot of people talk about having troubles with their o2 eliminators, i had zero problems, with a little manuvering i was able to fit it just right but it is a two man job for the fit is pretty tight, and the rest of the exhaust is simple slip into the stock rubber hangers and slide each pipe into each other so no welding or anything.

I appreciate the advice given and I have requested that Ryan somehow makes good on the original order by setting me up with the Magnaflow. I will post the outcome.

Thanks

i have a OBX version of the Apexi N1 muffler and its great. my other freind spent about 700 on a apexi catback with the N1 muffler, and i paid 300 for my custom catback and OBX, and my exhaust sounds better.

i have also dealt with other OBX parts, such as shifters and headers. my freind had obx headers on his integra and it was a good piece, worked fine for a year and even when he sold it. i have a obx short throw from ebay and thats a great piece. though it doesnt come with a slot for the spring, i still love it, cause now its a man shifter. it will stay in between 1 and 2 while at a light so i just move it up to 1st and go. the shift from 2 to 3 is about a 45* angle and you have to really throw it, but ive never missed 3rd in a race because of the way you throw it its basically gonna go in, kinda hard to explain but i like it. compared to my cousins stock gs shifter his feels like a womans shifter, no feeling of what gear youre in, some spring to help it, pure girly man.

Ryan is willing to give me another rear section with the muffler I choose (at his cost price)if I decide that I do not like the delivered OBX. I am satisfied with this, however for those who are contemplating ordering I would suggest that you specify no substitutions.

So you spent an extra 100.00 dollars and didnt get what you want. Now you have to spend more money to get what you want.

Sounds like a great deal to me.
