I have a 90 gsx. It needs a headgasket (around $100) and a clutch, act 2600(around 400)

So i really only have 500 left over.

I have a mbc, gauge,3" turboback.

I was thinking of getting my ecoiii 16g while i had the 500 left. But i need supporting mods first. What do you all suggest?

I do have a steady source of income, its not a lot but about 500 take home a week. I guess at 20 thats no terrible, at least i hope not. I dont have 500 each week for cars though, most of that goes to savings account and the rest if for the stang payment/insurance.

IF for some reason 1000 will just barely keep me from getting something i have another 500 i can spend right now. Im not cutting myself short for bills, this is my car money.

Ive been looking around for a while, i think im ready to buy now.

The logger will let me look at the engine while the car is running the afc does what exatly? Would i be able to get a noticable seat of your pants feel from tuning from the afc?

I kind of though injectors and pump would be first, interesting. Im not dissing you, i just really dont know. Good info, keep it coming please :)

Yeah i forgot the headstuds, I think i saw a bunch of new ones in box on ebay for 80 or so, i think.

I think i might be using 1500, what else should i get? Im excited, but nervous :) If you know what i mean.

The AFC, would you suggest a SAFCII? They are like 250-350 on ebay for new ones. There is also dsmlink for 500 on ebay, new?

If i get the studs,gaskets,afc.logger(or dsm link)

Then i should look at injectors,fuelpump? then turbo?

dont cheap out on headstuds or a headgasket man.... youll be paying more in the long run.

get ARPs brand new from a shop.. and get a mitsubishi MLS brand new from a shop.

DONT BUY ENGINE PARTS ON EBAY!! always buy new.

heres some links

The logger is one of the 1st things you should get. I spent thousands putting together a motor which feels 100hp short of it's potential, and am clueless as to why. This = me buying a logger 9 months later than I should have. You really need to know what's going on, the logger will tell you knock and timing, crucial elements to the motor's performance.

The AFC won't do too much good until you have injectors and a pump, but you can't do injectors/pump without an AFC, so they are either altogether, or the AFC, then the injectors and pump.

The last $50 you have I would spend on the "free" mods. You will have to come up with some wiring, vacuum hose, and various other $2 parts.

Like these guys said, do the fuel mods. I'd go with a 190 pump, 550s/650s, and the AFC. It's going be a decent amount of money you feel that you've lost because it's not much there to tune. It's when you get a turbo, cams, front mount that it all makes sense why you spent that 500 bucks on your fuel mods. :thumb:

So I'm looking at

Logger=$100
SAFC-(lets say $350)
Clutch, act 2600=400
Headgasket=100
head studs=100

Thats=1050.

If i have 450 left, get injectors and the pump?
I like the idea of getting cams, after reading the reviews but i need fuel mods first?
Once i do the supporting mods and i get a turbo, maybe the evoiii 16g and 264/272 cams, how will this guy run?

Is this to much stuff to do at once?

That reminds me, anyone in or around ohio have an extra 2g exhaust manifold for cheap?

I would do the injectors and pump. More fuel = more boost which is going to give you a lot of additional power potential. The cams won't make a very noticeable difference until you start getting up there in HP. I would recommend skipping over the 190 pump, straight to a 255. If you are going to keep modding, to a bigger turbo especially, it would suck to have to replace the pump again with a bigger unit.

if i were you.... id maybe even go check out dsmlink.... just under $600 and you have logging and tuning.

600 is just for the software? THen i need a laptop right? Thats around 700-750 correct?

actually your best bet if you just plan on using it for your car is get like an old 600mhz or something thats got a serial port right on the back for about $2-300.

He will overrun his stock regulator if he goes 255 then he will have to spend another 150+ for a FPR ad gauge.
