This is going to be a totally n00b like question. Ive located a perfect 99 GSX. Its high mileage so I would obviously put a new 6 bolt in, but how much would it cost to go ahead and put a 4 bolt 5 speed tranny in as wel? This one is auto... Im guessing I should probably hold out and keep waiting for one like this with a 5 speed in it, but somebody shoot me an estimated number. Keep in mnd, there may be NO donor car... not sure yet. THANKS!

In my girls 1g to go from auto-manual it cost 2500 parts and labor. That is a 1g where parts are readily available, I would at least double that for a 99. If you are gonna buy a 99 and dump all the money into a 6bolt conversion why not just get a higher mileage 1g and then swap in a fresher 6bolt and 5 speed. Will save you lots and it will be a bit more smog legal. Then again, 2g's are just damn sexy.
