NOPI FAQ

I've got a sweet ride. Will you sponsor me?
Sorry, NOPI Motorsports, LLC and it's subsidiaries DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIPS to show cars, teams, or drivers. We recommend contacting manufacturers of those brands that you have on your vehicle or would like to have on your vehicle. Good luck.

What’s it cost to enter my car in the show?
To enter the car show, the price is $65 for your first class entry. That covers a 2 day weekend pass for both the driver and a passenger.

Does that cover all of the classes?
No, that covers only one class. You can enter in more classes for an additional $30 per class.

Where can I get tickets?
You can purchase tickets for the event at the venue on the day of that event.

Do I have to register online?
No. You can register at the gate, but we recommend registering no later than a week before the event.

When does it start? When does it end? When do the different events start? When’s the Bikini contest?
Gates for contestants open at 8am on both days. Show times are from 10am to 11pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday. For more detailed event and contest times, click here.

Can I leave my car at the show overnight?
You can, but neither NOPI nor the event venue will assume any liability.

Can I pitch a tent and camp overnight?
Sorry, no camping, pets and no glass containers.

Can I bring a cooler?
Sure you can. Make sure your cooler is no bigger than 14”x14”x14”.

I’m entered in the car show. Do I have to be there both days?
Yes. Car show vehicles must be present and in their assigned areas on both days to be judged.

I can’t register online for the car show or drag races. Why?
To prep our computers for the race, we shut down registration on the Sunday before the race. If you don’t get registered by then, you can still register at the gate.

I have a car club/team/crew, and we want to park together. How can we do that?
Your best bet is to show up at the venue as early as possible, and register at the same time before the show. That will better guarantee your club’s chances of parking together.

Is it okay for me to bring my 5 year old son/cousin/niece?
Definitely. This is a family friendly event.

I'm going i have been wanting to go since i found out like last month.
do you guys know if john shepherd will be there?

aww why not i really whant to see his car
Well depends if he is racing for money or just as a calling card now a days? If for money it might not be an event where he can make what he wants for it to beneficial to drive out there. And if it isn't it might not be worth him driving out there just to show off the car and spread his card out. Just come to the Shootout and you'll see it, or contact John and find out his race schedule and where he will be and try to drive to see him, I think it is worth it. :thumb:

Nopi AZ bulletins:

Shepherd couldn't make it. Too many last minute parts and changes to make it practical.

Brent Rau ran 7.31 at 185 on his first pass (#1 qualifier, record setting pass). Second pass the car moved a bit so he lifted. Third round was sprinkled out.

Other record setting passes:
Chevy Cobalt FWD piloted by Marty Ladwig ran 7.5 at 196.
Matt Hartford ran 6.5 at 212mph.

Good turnout for Phoenix! Track conditions were so-so. Hope the weather holds up tomorrow.

Where did you hear Shep is going with Methanol? Nice to see Rau going faster.

Shep - Confirmed. I spoke to him personally about it.
Rau - We are dialing in a new slipper clutch setup which helps him get down the track a lot better. We are still trying to get used to it. Best 60ft so far in testing is 1.06. So far not enough slip so he is shaking the tires. He broke a transmission yesterday morning so we were busy swaping trannies. Many thanks to Gary Kubo who helped us wrench the car and help at the line all weekend. Man that guy knows his stuff! Brent has a nice jump in points with #1 qualifier and the win.

Cool on the confimation man, did he say anything about that new turbo I saw a few years back? Also, did he say what he intends on running this year with the big change? Also with that 60' it seems like Brent could be hitting 6's soon.

I didn't talk to him about the turbo. With all the changes, John is just hoping to figure it all out and get down the track first. Not sure what expectations he has.
Brent is really happy with the tuneup he has right now and he is at max boost. He would need a bigger turbo to get more out of it.

Well if that 7.3 was with the tires shaking, getting those tires planted will probably give him a lower et, not 6's but somewhat lower. Do you know if he plans to go with a bigger turbo, I'd love to see a 6 from him. After talking with him at the Shootout two years ago, I'd have to say he and Shep are both down to earth great guys. I haven't talked to Shep in a while, but I know he had that turbo sitting around all last year, and he was thinking of a different exhaust setup, and different tires. Hope to see him cruise to a lower et this year too. Thanks for the info.
