Hey I have a friend who has an RS. I don't have a dsm anymore, but I can not figure out why her car won't start. It cranks, she replaced the coil pack, battery and spark plugs. I can hear they fuel pump start up when she turns the key to on. Like i said though, turns over, but no start. It's hard to diagnose since the car is sitting in grass with about a foot and a half tall grass around it. It's been a while since i've worked on eclipse but I suggested checking the fuel filter. Is it possible to be clogged enough to not start at all? Any other suggestions?

well, to start, I would check everything, even the stuff you already changed. Spark, fuel pressure, compression. Then you can move forward. Sounds like it has been sitting a while. Could be a dozen things. I would put my money on the fuel system as you stated. Dont' just go throwing parts at it though, if you do everything in the right order you can save a lot of time, money and frustration, as well as learn some stuff along the way.

And if it sat in a field like it sounds like it has a mouseor animal could have goin in there and started chewing up on the wires just start diagnosing

id pull the spark plug wires and see if you are actually getting any spark. If you can get an ark out of them then you know your ok there. Also again witht the car sitting and sitting in a field i would think that some critter got in there and started munching on your wires. But if you finally do have spark then trace it back to fuel or even air for that matter. I do not know the extent of modification to the car but check the airbox if it has one and make sure thats not clogged up.
