No Start Issue *Confused*

The gf and I were at Crappy Tire buying some things. Walked out to the car and I told her to drive it (this took a lot of guts on my part. When she drove my old car for the first time she managed to bend a rim by hitting a pot hole).

So she jumps in, and cranks the car over, it starts but is idling really low then stalls out. She sort of freaks and I hop in the driver seat to try it. Crank it a couple times and nothing.
Pop the hood, poke around, nothing unusual, kind of gas smell (maybe I flooded the motor). Get back in, wait a minute and try again. Car fries up no problem. WTF??!?

Now I'm REALLY confused as to why it did this. I have noticed when driving today that it was idling at around 1500rpm when warm but then it would drop right back down.
Also it seems like the car takes a while to crank over (4-5seconds maybe, almost sounds like it's labored) but that might just be a typical DSM thing.

Opinions?

It might be your cam positon sensor. I had the same problem with mine. Switched it out and i havnt had the problem since.

My dsm had the isc going out. When the engine would cool down, it would have a hard time starting. Might wabt to remove that and measure the resistance between the motor windings.

I'll check the ISC and also I've been told to check for boost leaks too.

cam sensor is my guess. ive had the same problem before and the cps was the culprit.

No boost leaks.

I filled it with gas the other day, 94, start it and it died again. It fired right up the 2nd time though and has been fine since.
