hi,
i drive a 96 eclipse gs-t. 2 days ago i finally got everything hooked up.
everything plugged as well. now here's the problem, there's no spark at all.
no spark from the battery, which means nothing in the car works and nothing out of the car works. like the headlights/foglights. i've checked the fuses, i triple checked the wirings, i've also checked to make sure everything's plugged.
not sure what is wrong, maybe the starter isnt generating any sparks??
let me know what you think is wrong. thanks

the battery isnt dead, since i've tried putting in a new battery.
even tried the battery in my brother and bro in law's car.
still nothing. and yes, im not getting power anywhere.
i will have to check the battery relay again, see if that is the problem.

sounds to me like a dead battery? so what your saying is your not getting power anywhere?
if your battery is fully charged i would double check the battery relay in the fuse box under the hood.

if i remember its either a 60amp or 80amp fuse you know it could be a 100 but it should be clear on the top so you can look to see if its blown and if its not i would just replace it anyway also there should be a relay/fuse for you ecu if your battery relay/fuse turns out not to be your problem. is it possible you can post some pics of the fuse box under the hood it would be a lot easier to diagnose

Hmmm, thats a twister.
Do your connectors look dirty, meaning you cant really see any metal? If they do, then try filing the insides of the connector(the plugs that go on to the battery) so you can see clean metal. This was the problem in my brothers car, a quick file, and everything worked fine.
Can you post a pic of the fuse box and the battery?

Your on the right track, just check power cables, grounds and make sure your ECU and everything is all plugged in...any one else have other ideas besides fuses, wiring, etc?

yes, i will take some pictures tomorrow and have it posted up.
thanks for the help

thanks. the grounds are all working fine. just not sure why im not
getting any power at all. ECU and all plugs are plugged. reason i know
is because i went back and unplug and plugged it again.
im hoping nothing major.

if your not getting power to anything you might wanna see if your master elec. fuse or your volage regulator if you have one.

*update*

-the good-
found what was wrong with the no power problem.
one of the ground wire was misplaced.

-the bad-
car cranks but doesnt start. no spark going to the
spark plugs. the coil pack started smoking and started
melting the coil pack. seems like all the power is going
to the coil pack and not to the spark plugs.
also, checked the spark plugs and there is no signs of fuel
coming through either.

well, this is all the new updates i have to post. let me know what
you think. thanks to all that is helping.

1st problem is the smoking coil packs. they are likely damaged, they should never ever smoke. then you can see if there is spark. problem right now is the coil packs
