This seems to be a more and more common occurance with my car now. Every time I disconnect the MAF and the battery my car goes to hell in a hand basket.

I don't know if this is tied into the fact that plugs 1 and 4 were covered in oil when I changed them the other day.

It seems when I reconnect everything the ECU loses the signal entirely or gets an erratic reading. It finally started to recognize airflow at idle, but as soon as I blipped the throttle, it would fall on its' face and damn near stall. The car and I played games for a good hour and a half until it decided to fix itself and work fine.

At one point I did get a MAF error, but other than that it just ran like crap until it sorted its' shit out.

Another thing, I upped the WOT settings on the MAFT and the idle got better... but that was only after it decided to recognize airflow.

Disconnect your battery, unplug the mas and then plug it back in. Connect your battery again. See if that changes anything. Be sure to leave the battery disconnected for a little while so the ECU resets.
