ok so i am at a crossroadshere on what i should do modding wise, im in a bind with my money situation and am debating on either buyin a electric cut out for my car or saving till next week to hopefully buy a FMIC. after i buy the intercooler i will still need to get a SAFC and AFPR to complete my tunning for my car, so my question is should i just go ahead and buy the cut out and wait on the FMIC since it will take time for me to get the rest of the add ons to help it anyhow or wait and get the FMIC? i think the sound of the car will turn heads with the cut out and will be worth it, but what do you think? and if so how does this ebay FMIC look?

not i will also have to buy a BOV so i wont be able to use the dang thing for a while anyhow

That fmic is just the sandard ssac fmic that many people have used. It is a pretty good kit, especially for the price. You can use a 1g bov with that flange, and they can be bought pretty cheap so don't let that steer you away from the fmic. I would go with that for an upgrade before an exhaust cut out.

sweet alright man i appreciate it i hate ihave to ask on here because i look at those kits day and night on ebay but i just dont know alot about them to know which are good deals and which are not, could you maybe show me one that might be a tad cheaper that is reliable or should i go with that one?

also that piping does not look like it will be enar long enough? how does that work out?

sweet, well i made a bid of 175 and if he accepts it which most likely will, ill have that kit but will still have to get a bov for this!

if you plan on running a stock 1G BOV you can buy one for ~$30 and crush it a little to compress the spring and hold more boost.

I wouldn't suggest doing this, all it will do is waste a perfectly good 1g bov. The 1g bov holds boost well exactly as it is well past where you can go without a tuning device and once you pass where it can hold boost you should really use the "Dodge Garage" mod to make it hold boost better this is also achieved by the Dejon Tool stop leak kit.

I also see no reason why anyone should ever buy an SAFC for one of these cars again. Yes they are still a fairly powerful tuning tool but at this point we have a number of much better options for a similar price. For 1gs you can go with Jackal or a burned chip for not much more than an SAFC and have an immensely better tuning system. For 2gs you can either use a 98/99 ECU or you can buy an evo8 ecu and the cable to flash them. Both of those options for the 2g give you an immense amount of control over the car and nearly unlimited tuning opportunities for barely more than the cost of an SAFC and much less than an SAFC and a good logger (Evoscan uses the same cable as the ECUflash and is only $25).

If you want a suggestion on where to use your money for the best bang for your buck then my suggestion is going to be a tuning device and a logger. Forget the rest since you probably aren't even heatsoaking your stock IC anyway. I'm finding that my Supra SMIC is handling my 16g well at even 22psi.

how does buying an ecu help tune the car, im a little lost on how you would do that and flash them?

Both evo8 ecus and H8 based 98/99 DSM ecus are flashable. This means that you can alter all of the basic settings of the car including fuel and timing maps, injector sizing, rev limits, etc. The evo8 setup is so advanced that it even has options for SD, altmaps, boost control, and many many other things. All that you need is a logger and the right type of cable. The reflashing software is free.
