If I was to do a compression test on my motor ,what number should i be looking for?My car is a 6 bolt 1g eclipse awd.

I've also heard that there shouldn't be more than 10% variance between any two cylinders. It doesn't mention that in the FAQ though that I saw.

A cold engine will give low readings. A warm engine will give correct readings (metal (rings) expands when warm).
Like I said. Follow that procedure to the letter and see what you have.
